Kathy was the second youngest of five children and the only girl. She attended school in Kenmare, ND. She then attended school in Minot, Bowbells, and Lignite, ND. She graduated from the Woodrow Wilson School in Fargo, ND. Kathy received residential and vocational support from Opportunity Foundation since 1988.
Kathy was employed through Opportunity Foundation where she worked at TNT and OSOM Carwash. One of her favorite things to do while there was to boss Nadine and Mitch around. She loved to give orders as it gave her great satisfaction and plenty of laughs. Kathy always made sure she left her mark anywhere she went, from sealing a kiss on the car windows to making her flamboyant entrances.
Kathy was a woman of pristine taste. She loved to dress up and have the accessories to match. You could find her on her tablet online shopping, or going shopping at any store searching for the next dress that caught her eye. Kathy enjoyed getting her nails and hair done almost as much as she enjoyed the compliments that she knew would follow! In 2017, Kathy took her very first plane ride to San Diego, California to vacation with Dawn. They had a wonderful time together and made cherished memories. Kathy found beauty in the simple pleasures of life such as sitting outside in the sun, people watching, and putting puzzles together. She always had a witty comment that would make everyone laugh. Kathy was known as “The Princess” amongst her friends, a title that she certainly lived up to. Her friends at Opportunity Foundation will miss her immensely.
Kathy is survived by her four brothers, Ronald, Kevin, Tom (Deb), and Tim; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and all of her friends and staff at the Opportunity Foundation.
Kathy is preceded by her parents, John L. and Mary Joe Dignan; her grandparents, John L. and Mary A. Dignan, Roy and Isabelle Fink; and nephew, Jeffrey R. Dignan.
The family would like to thank the Opportunity Foundation for all the care she received throughout the years. Also, a big thank you to the Billings Clinic Hospital for caring for her on her final days.
Friends may call at www.eversoncoughlin.com to share memories of Kathy or leave condolences for her family.
