Janice Flynn, 87, Albuquerque, NM, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Janice Nadine Ellison was born June 29, 1935, during the depression to a Norwegian immigrant and a first generation Norwegian/American, John and Sophie (Jacobson) Ellison, in Minot. In her youth she was a dancer and instructor. She enjoyed horseback riding, ice skating on a pond with her family near their home, and ‘potlucks’ with her girlfriends.

She was a drum majorette at Minot High School where she met her sweetheart, Kenneth. They married in 1953 and lived in Fargo before moving to NM in 1957 to grow their family.

Janice was a wonderful woman who poured all her wisdom, kindness, and love into her family and was an amazing role model. Upon her retirement, she continued her gardening, took up genealogy, scrapbooking, and she and Ken travelled internationally.

Her surviving family includes: daughters, Debra (Dennis) Read, and Trudi Flynn; grandson, Corey Lambert; niece, Diana Schmidt and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sophie Ellison; husband, Kenneth Flynn; daughter, Robin Flynn; brother, Larry Ellison; sister-in-law, Rita Ellison; son, Duke Flynn; granddaughter, Laney Williams.

Graveside Service for Janice and her son, Duke: Monday, May 15, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
