After Jack’s retirement, they volunteered their time in Medora, served as volunteer security at an Alaskan school, acted as campground hosts and traveled to Hawaii. In 2016, Hazel was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, and she and Jack decided to make Valley View Manor their home. When Jack died in April 2019, she received support and comfort from many lifelong friends and neighbors.
