Donald Repnow, 68, Jacksonville, FL, formerly Velva, ND, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
Donald Arvin Repnow was born on August 4, 1954, in Turtle Lake, ND, McLean County, the son of Delano and Violet (Hammer) Repnow. He was the oldest of three boys and three girls. Donald was raised and educated in Velva, and was active in 4-H, Farmer’s Union, and the Velva Boy Scouts, where he obtained the rank of Life Scout. Donald graduated from Velva High School in 1972.
Following graduation, Donald worked at various jobs including the railroad, which he enjoyed. In 1980, Donald moved to Florida, where he was employed at different Power Houses, including the Crystal River Nuclear Power Plant and the Jacksonville Electric Association (JEA), where he built and worked on the construction of the power plants and cooling towers. Donald also worked as a night security officer on a high-rise building in downtown Jacksonville. He was the owner of Don’s Decks, Docks, and Doors, where he built decks on friends’ houses. Donald was also an excellent woodworker who specialized in finish carpentry work. In addition, Donald worked for a long period of time at the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Plant in Jacksonville.
Donald will forever be remembered for his kindness to everyone he came in contact with.
Donald is survived by his mother, Violet; siblings, Eugene (Kathleen) Repnow, Mesa, AZ, Cynthia (Dale) Howard, Hazen, ND, Brian Repnow, Hazen, ND, Cathyrn Repnow, Billings, Montana, and Caryn Repnow, Minot, ND; nieces and nephews, Kara (Tom) Kosater, Austin, Texas, Benjamin (Brenda) Howard, Bismarck, ND, Alisha Karsky, Bismarck, ND, Bradley (Amber) Howard, Bismarck, ND, Timothy Blowers, Minot, ND, and Abby Repnow, Minot, ND; five great-nephews, Xander, Kayden, Liam, Summit, and Everett Howard, all of Bismarck, ND; his many friends in Dunnellon, FL, and Jacksonville, FL; and his co-workers at the Local Ironworkers #597.
He was preceded in death by Grandpa and Grandma Repnow; Grandpa and Grandma Hammer; father, Delano Repnow; and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral: Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel in Minot.
Visitation: will be one hour prior to the start of the service.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens in Minot.
