Connie Lafferty, 70, Minot, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society in Mohall.
Connie was born July 18, 1952, the daughter of Fred and Ann (Berdahl) Boger, in Minot. She was raised and educated in Minot. She enjoyed being the oldest of five siblings and had to be there for all of them. She loved her daily phone visits with her sister and frequent chats with her brothers.
She married Kenneth Golly in 1972. They were blessed with two daughters, Heather and Heidi. They later divorced. She married Elgard “Dick” Lafferty in 1984 in Sherwood. She gained a son, James; daughter-in-law Jeri Bell, and three grandsons Bud, Logan, and Cody. He gained two daughters, Heather and Heidi. They moved to Mouse River Park.
Connie was the first female auctioneer in North Dakota recognized by Quentin Burdick. She owned and successfully operated many businesses including restaurants in Sherwood, Drake, and the Mouse River Café. She was also an activities director at Mohall Nursing Home, served as a Girl Scout leader, a real estate agent, an insurance agent, bar manager, and prior to retirement she was a Landman for oil and gas.
She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She loved going to church with her card playing friends.
She was always Heidi and Heather’s biggest supporter, and she was always part of the action with them. Her most important title was, “Best Mom Ever.” She was very proud of her grandchildren. She beamed at being Grandma Connie.
Her loving family includes: father, Fred Boger; daughters, Heather (Dawn Mattern) Golly, Minot Heidi (Kirk) Sather, Minot; daughter-in-law, Jeri Bell Lafferty, Colorado; grandchildren, Logan (Nick Wolf) Lafferty, Cody (Courtney) Lafferty, Billy Ellsworth, Jennifer Ellsworth, granddaughter-in-law, Tasha Lafferty; great-grandchildren, Kayden Lafferty, Asher Lafferty, Sage Lafferty, Alivia Ellsworth; brothers, Daniel (Nikki) Boger, Bismarck, Tim (Joni) Boger, Minot, Fred (Kristen) Boger, Minot; sister, Tammy (Robert) Zambrano, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Boger; husband, Elgard “Dick” Lafferty; son, James Lafferty; grandson, Elgard “Bud” Lafferty; and nephew, Justin Womack.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, May 26, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
