Arlene Krefting, 90, of Minot, passed away on May 19, 2023, in a nursing home in Velva.
She was born in Rugby on February 6, 1933, to Joe and Magdalena (Muffenbeier) Jaeger.
She graduated from Rugby High School and then moved to Minot after marrying Wayne Krefting.
Together, they had four sons, Terry, Mickey, Rick, and Kelly, who were the center of her world.
Throughout her life, Arlene worked at many jobs including Trinity Hospital, Medical Arts Clinic, John Moses Air Force Base Hospital, Hallmark Gifts store manager, South Prairie School and Minot’s Target Store.
Perhaps Arlene was best known for her energetic lifestyle. She was happiest when she was working and getting things accomplished. Her home was always in perfect form, she cooked and baked for all occasions, she ran many garage sales every summer, she helped anyone who needed some assistance, and she enjoyed working as a volunteer at the Minot Hostfest.
Arlene was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and her faith was very important to her.
Arlene was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Magdalena Jaeger.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Krefting, her sons: Terry (Jan), Mickey (Carol), Rick, and Kelly (Maureen), her grandchildren: Kirby Krefting, Kelby Krefting, Teri Ann Krefting, Kahlor Krefting, Casey Krefting, Tyler Krefting, Taylor Krefting, and Michaela Awsumb, and her great-grandchildren: Garrett Krefting, Karter Krefting, Charlee Krefting, Kieper Krefting, River Stern, Sebastian Stern, and Henry Awsumb, sisters, Joanie (Don) Pasley and Patty (Wayne) Rasmuson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arlene will be missed by her family and all those who loved her. Her spirit lives on through them.
Her family would like to thank the employees of Edgewood Vista Memory Care of Minot and The Good Samaritan Society of Velva for the wonderful, comforting care Arlene received while she was a patient in each facility.
