Peggy Smith, 66, Minot, ND, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 in a Minot nursing home.

Peggy Alice Chadwick was born on July 30, 1956, a daughter of Steve and Alice (Smith) Chadwick in Tacoma, WA. She was raised and educated in Washington.

Peggy was once married to Gary Hemenway. To this union two children were born Jeff and Jennifer. The couple later divorced.

On May 10, 1985, Peggy was united in marriage to Robert Smith in Tacoma, WA. The couple moved to North Dakota, where together they raised their three children Josh, Jeremy, and Kristina. Peggy worked as a Wal-Mart Associate until 2014, retiring due to health reasons.

Peggy was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, fishing camping, all types of music, and doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by husband of 37 years Robert; children, Jeff Hemenway, Jennifer Hemenway, Josh (Linsey) Smith, Jeremy Smith, Kristina (Chris Miller) Smith; grandchildren, Peyton and Josh Hemenway, Kayla, Alecia and Lakoda Hemenway; Tate, Caden and Cora Smith, Eli and Isaiah Smith; great-grandchildren, Alexandrite and Faithlynn; siblings, Kim Webb-Chadwick, David Chadwick and Ann Fink-Hewitt; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Vern, Nancy, Gary; and a granddaughter Triniti.

There will be no reviewal as cremation has taken place, however, friends may sign a guest register on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorial Service: Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11 am at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed on Peggy’s webpage at www.thompsonlarson.com.

A private family burial will take place at a later date.
