Marian E. Guss, the daughter of Edwin and Alma (Thompson) Sherwin, was born on February 2, 1929, at home in rural Barton, North Dakota. She died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota. On October 24, 1948, she was united in marriage to Dwight Guss at Rugby.

Marian is survived by her children, Mitch (Cheryl) of Willow City, Doug of Minot, Sheldon (Darlene) of Towner, Gwendolyn Guss of Bismarck and Jerrold of Wolford; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren with one on the way and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot with burial in the spring in Wolford Community Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service and sharing of memories beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby. Visitation will continue on Tuesday for one hour before services at the church in Minot.
