Max
Garry Hauf, 79, longtime Max area farmer, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Trinity Hospital in Minot surrounded by his loving family. With his dying breath he led his family in praying the Lord’s Prayer and singing Jesus Loves Me.
Garry was born on October 25, 1943, in Minot, the son of Paul and Erna (Wolter) Hauf. He was raised on a farm east of Max. After completing high school, he attended NDSU in Fargo and graduated with a degree in Ag Economics. He served with the ND National Guard from 1966 until 1972.

Garry’s faith in Jesus Christ was priority. He was a life-long member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Max, where he was baptized, confirmed and married. Attending Sunday morning church services and saying grace before meals was a value he instilled in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family meant the world to Garry. In his spare time, he enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunset and fishing trips with family to Lake Audubon and Lake Sakakawea.
