Curtis Williams, 77, Minot, ND, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, at Edgewood Vista, Minot, ND.
Curtis Carroll Williams was born in Minot, ND on October 9, 1945, to Richard Carroll and Alice (Groninger) Williams. He went to school in Des Lacs. Throughout his life he enjoyed moving around work and always finding a new adventure. Curt would later meet his future wife in Wisconsin.
Curt and Sandra Gourneau were united in marriage on April 7, 1977. They lived in Wisconsin for a short period before returning to Minot, ND. With this union Curt was also blessed with the ability to adopt Scott and father three additional children: Tara, Donovan and Alyson. In 2015, Curt was elated to receive the new title of Papa Curt when Tara and Jason adopted his grandchild, Claire.
Curt was a proud member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. Curt was also a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Minot.
He enjoyed all the time he spent with his family, traveling, drawing, and in his earlier years he enjoyed time on the farm with his sisters. Curt enjoyed time outdoors, especially planting flowers and watching the local wildlife.
His loving family includes: wife of 46 years, Sandy; children, Scott Williams of Minot, Tara (Jason) Pruett of Virginia, and Aly (Jason) St. Ours of Georgia; granddaughter, Claire Pruett of Virginia; three sisters, Gailia Willenbring of Minot, Glenda Carlson of Michigan, and Lana (Mike) Nelson of Minot; Curt is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews that played a significant part in his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Alice; and son, Donovan.
Visitation: Friday, April 21 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot.
Memorial Service: Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot.
Inurnment: Rolling Green Cemetery, rural Minot, ND in the summer of 2023.
