Curtis Lee Blohm, 76, Bismarck, ND, passed away April 3rd, 2023 surrounded by his family. He will be remembered by his family as a very loving father, grandpa and Papa.

A remembrance gathering will be held at a later date, to allow for family and friends located across the globe to attend.

Our dad was born September 16, 1946 in Minot, ND, the son of Alvin and Phyllis (Rolene) Blohm. He was raised on the family farm near Benedict, ND, where he graduated from Max High School in 1964.

Our dad married his high school sweetheart, MaryAnne Honch October 16, 1964. The couple moved to Minot, ND, where Dad received a Bachelor of Science degree from Minot State University in 1968. While continuing his education, he received his Masters of Natural Sciences from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, he was a science educator and coached football, basketball, track and baseball. After all that studying, in 1974, he went to work for Knife River Coal Mining Company in Beulah, ND, starting out as a foreman at the mine and retiring as Vice President of Engineering and Environment.

Dad was a part of many things throughout his life, Bismarck Elks Organization, Amateur Trapshooting Association, American Member Management Association, and various committees for the ND Lignite Energy Council. His passion for woodworking was above and beyond, he could make anything out of one piece of wood. He also enjoyed, hunting, fishing, camping, travel, golf, curling, trap shooting, and playing cribbage with his granddaughters.

Our Dad, Grandpa and Papa will be missed dearly. We learned so much from him, his wisdom and his way to look at both sides on everything.

Our dad is survived by his two daughters, LeeAnne (husband, Allan Cook), Kelly, both of Bismarck; three granddaughters, Mckenzie, Amber and Jenna. A brother, Alvin Blohm and his wife.

Our dad is preceded in death by his wife MaryAnne, his parents Alvin and Phyllis Blohm and son-in-law Jim Stuckenschneider.
