Rocky Roe Rocheleau died on March 10, 2023, while delivering a load of freight, in Truckee, California. Rocky was born in Rugby on June 24, 1960 to Kenneth Warren and Edna Marie (Dean) Rocheleau and grew up on a farm in Spring Lake Township – Pierce County, North Dakota. He graduated from Rugby High School in 1979. Rocky attended North Dakota State School of Science and graduated from Lake Region Junior College in 1981 with a certificate in diesel mechanics. Rocky and his brother, Jerry, ranched on the family farm for about 20 years. On November 21, 1981 he married Paula Lynn Buckmeier in Rugby, and they made their home in Rugby ever since. In 1988 they were blessed with a daughter and in 1992 a second blessing. In 2001 he began his new career as a long haul truck driver and in 2005 he began is employment with Central Carriers, Inc. During this work he traveled to all parts of the United States, mostly delivering products from Rugby Manufacturing, Inc. and returning with many other interesting freight items to be delivered at various points on the way home.

He enjoyed playing pool, hunting, fishing, joining his family around a roaring bonfire, and driving around the country side. While relaxing at home his favorite past time was watching old western programs on television.

He is survived by his wife, Paula, his daughters, Miranda Smith (special friend, Louis) and Cali (Robert) Richerson – both of Rugby, and his brother, Jim – Rugby and his brother Roger (Valory) – Burwell, Nebraska, and a sister-in-law Kathie and his grandchildren, Alexander 17, Arianna 16, Anthony 12, Autumn 6, Abigail 4 Smith and Ridge 5, and Stetson 1 Richerson. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Theresa, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry on January 10, 2023, his parents and an infant grand daughter and 3 brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at Christ Community Church in Rugby on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM. There will also be reviewal in the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Rocky will be buried in Little Flower Cemetery later in the spring.
