Milton A. Berg, 90, Minot, ND, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Milton Arthur Berg was born in Turtle Lake, ND on July 20th, 1932 to Christ and Lydia (Schauer) Berg. He went to school in Turtle Lake and Underwood. He moved to Riverdale in 1949 where he worked on the Garrison Dam. Milton entered the US Army August 20, 1952 until August 19, 1954. During this time, he spent 15 ½ months in Korea for the Korean War. He then returned to Riverdale and worked on the Garrison Dam until March of 1957.
Milton and Joyce Jensen were married on September 23, 1956, in Max, ND, at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church. They lived in Riverdale for one year, then moved to Minot in March of 1957.
He went to work for T.B.A. of Minot in March of 1957, then worked for Home of Economy from 1963 until November of 1998.
Milt was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Minot.
He enjoyed all the time he spent with his family, tinkering in his garage, coloring, and in his earlier years he enjoyed farming with his brothers, and nephew, Mike at the Berg Farm.
Six children were born to Milt and Joyce: Sue (Darwin) Saari of Turtle Lake, ND; Jeff (Lorie) Berg of Minot, ND; Doug (LaDawn) Berg of Minot, ND; Sandy (Monty) Long of Williston, ND; Todd Berg & Chad Long of St. Louis Park, MN; and Stacy (Dave) Humphreys of Minot, ND. They were blessed with 14 grandchildren. Jason Saari; Diane Saari; McKenzie (Michael) DeLorme; Mollie (Mark) Koble; Eric Berg; Travis Berg; Ashley (Devin) Bauste; Adam (Amara) Lambert; Michelle Long; Ryan Long; Kade Long; Jensen Long Berg; Kelsey (Ryley) Bercier; and Tyler Humphreys. They have also been blessed with 11 great grandchildren. Mason, Kysen, Sebastian, Rose, Maximilian, Dillon, Autumn, Axel, Mason, Kole, and Audrey.
Milt is survived by wife Joyce of 66 years and his 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers Larry Berg of Fargo and Art (Mary Jo) Berg of Fargo; two sisters Verdean Hofer of Turtle Lake and Delores Sailer of Oregon; and sister-in-law Agnes Berg of Underwood; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Christ and Lydia, sister Sylvia, and brothers Emil, Melvin, LaVerne, Dale, and Delmer; and a special nephew, Mike Berg.
Funeral: Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Visitation: Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
