Lila Marsden, age 87 of Minot, formerly of Bottineau, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at a Minot hospital. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:00 am at the United Parish in Bottineau. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.

Lila Marsden, a daughter of Daniel and Nellie (Neubauer) Krause, was born on August 17, 1935 on the family farm near Sherwood, ND. She grew up near Sherwood and spent a short time in Seattle, WA before returning to Sherwood. She graduated from Sherwood High School in 1953. Lila then moved to Minot and worked as a waitress. On September 16, 1954 she married Lawrence Marsden in Sherwood. They made their home in Minot and in 1967 they moved to Bottineau. Lawrence passed away on January 27, 1994. Lila worked as a clerk at the Turtle Mountain Lodge on Lake Metigoshe for a time. She then worked for MTI in Bottineau and Mohall and in 2003, she moved to Minot.

Lila was a member of the United Parish in Bottineau. She enjoyed cooking for her family and decorating her home.

She is survived by her sons, Kelly (Jeannette) Marsden of Heilbronn, Germany, Dana (Marie) Marsden of Monument, CO and Troy (Peggy) Marsden of Fargo; step-children, Douglas (Cheryl) Marsden of Bottineau and Candace Baune of Charlotte, NC; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; stepson-in-law, Craig Nett; sister, Darlene Bernsdorf of Minot; sister-in-law, Inge Krause of Sherwood; brother-in-law, Wayne McLain of Minot; half-sisters, Nancy Wherley of Mohall and Avis Ethan of Tolley and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by, her brother, Dahlen Krause; sisters, Delia McLain and Della Bechtold; step-daughter, Linda Nett; daughter-in-law, Sonja Marsden; stepson-in-law, Steve Baune and great-grandson, Rylin Marsden.
