Leroy Sprenger

Leroy J. Sprenger, 89, of Mesa, Ariz., passed away on July 1, 2022 under the care of Hospice. Leroy was born to Jacob and Minnie (Miller) Sprenger July 23, 1933 in Harvey, N.D. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He was married to Bernadine Viger in 1955 and they made their home in Minot, N.D. and later Duluth, Minn. They had two children, Cindy and Craig.
While employed with the Great Northern Railway he attended Minot State College and received his Bachelor of Science in Business in 1960. He spent 41 years with the GN and BNSF railroads and at the time of his retirement was Manager of the Intermodal transport division at BNSF.
He later married Margo Wahl and they spent their retirement years in Mesa, Ariz. Leroy enjoyed everything to do with auto racing from dirt track racing to NASCAR and Formula 1.
He is survived by his wife Margo; his son, Craig (Lisa) Sprenger; daughter, Cindy Torseth and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dean.
