Laine A. Deaver—-64, Berthold, ND, died Sunday, February 26, 2023 in a Minot hospital.

Laine Allen Deaver was born on December 12, 1958, a son of Lee and Marilyn (Johnson) Deaver in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Berthold, being baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, and graduated from Berthold High School in 1977. He furthered his education by attending Williston State College.

He began his working career driving for Grindy Trucking. Laine and his father started Deaver Trucking and began hauling crude oil. In the early 1990’s, Laine began farming fulltime with his dad and later for himself.

Laine enjoyed the outdoors hunting pheasants, deer, geese, and enjoyed watching his black labs work the field.

His mother Marilyn Deaver; siblings: Rod (Julie) Deaver, Sandy (Jonny) Johnson, Mark (Sheila) Deaver, nieces and nephews Bonnie (Kyle)Schepp, Cheri (Ethan) Seifert, Ross ( Jenna) Deaver, Ashley Deaver, Heidi (Joe) Terfehr, Hayley (Jordan) Timm, Hannah (finance Alec Burchett) Johnson; several great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles also survive.

Laine was preceded in death by his father Lee, maternal and paternal grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation: Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 2 until 4 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home and from 5 until 6 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold, ND

Family service will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold, ND.

Funeral Service: Friday, March 3, 2023 at 10 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold, ND. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/@zionlutheranchurch9176/

Burial: Will take place in the spring at the Wildrose Cemetery, Berthold, ND
