James Roberts, 70, Minot, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in a Minot hospital from complications related to COPD and congestive heart failure. His wife was at his side.

James Allen Roberts was born on October 9, 1952, in Minot to Fred and Erma (Klundt) Roberts. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Bishop Ryan High School in 1970.

Jim was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and especially enjoyed motorcycle riding.

As a young adult, he was employed at Jim Ryan Chevrolet. During his adult years Jim was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad, KCJB Radio as a Disc Jockey, a local dental lab, owned and operated his own lawn care and pest control business, Sykes, Marketplace Foods, and Enterprise Car Rental as a car jockey.

Jim was once married to Mary Hoff. They made their home in Minot and were the parents of Stacey and Lisa. Jim married Peggy Richards Sundsbak on September 3, 2004, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minot. They made their home in Minot.

Jim is survived by his wife of eighteen years: Peggy; daughter, Lisa (Jerad) Lemer of Minot; stepdaughter: Amy (Brian) Green of Lakeville, MN; grandchildren: Miranda, Megan, Natasha, Seth, Carter and Madyson; step grandchildren: Brianna and Kayla; great-grandchildren: Emilia and Liberty; in-laws: Ellen (Robert) Bott of Perrysville, IN, Ethel Johnson of Oceanside, CA, and Judy Wilkerson of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws: Dempsey and Marie Richards; and daughter: Stacey Roberts.

Funeral Service: Friday, March 31, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minot. A livestream of the service will be available by using the link in the website obituary.

Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, at a later date.

Visitation: Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
