Donald J. Hager, died peacefully in the presence of his family on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota. At the age of 85.

Donald was born on March 15, 1938 in Harvey, North Dakota to Moritz and Christine (Schatz) Hager. On September 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Marie Kuntz at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby. Together they raised their five children. Donald was a lifetime farmer Southeast of Orrin.

Donald is survived by his children, Cheryl of Balta, Bradley (Karmen) of Drummond, Montana, Tamara (Ted) Mertz of Anamoose, LeAnn of Washington, DC and Brent on the family farm; his lights, his granddaughter and great granddaughter, Kaitlyn (Brandon) Weidert and Nora of Des Lacs.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 3 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond with burial in the spring in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Orrin.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary, vigil prayer service and sharing of memories beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby.
