Deborah Hansen

Deborah Marie Hansen, 60, of Wellington, Florida, passed away on March 26, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer. Deborah was born on October 17th, 1962 to Thomas and Dee MacClennan in Minot, North Dakota. Throughout her life, she pursued her love of learning and education by graduating from Minot State University with her degree in Elementary Education and continuing to achieve her Master’s in Education from The University of Phoenix.

Early in her career, Deborah moved to take a teaching position in El Paso, Texas. That is where she met the love of her life, Robert Hansen, and they wed in 1993. Deborah was blessed with two beautiful children, Hayleigh and Andrew. Her family meant everything to Deborah and was a continued source of pride.

Deborah was a passionate educator and mentor. For over 38 years, she inspired her students and colleagues with her dedication to her craft and quick-witted humor. During her impressive career, she made a difference and touched thousands of lives.

She was a loving daughter, a devoted wife and mother, a caring sister, a wonderful aunt, and a loyal friend. She had the talent of making everyone feel special when graced with her company. Deborah is survived by her husband, Robert, and their two children Hayleigh and Andrew; her parents Thomas and Dee MacClennan, her sister, Teresa Potvien; her nephew, Blaise Potvien; her brother, Bradley and his wife, Stacey MacClennan, her nieces, Abbi, Adison, and Aspyn MacClennan; her father and mother-in-law, Roger and Mary Hansen; and her brother-in-law and his husband, Rick, and Matt Hansen.

Services will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church in Wellington, Florida on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 1 PM.
