Constance ‘Connie’ J. Mason, 83, Minot, died Thursday, March 23, 2023, in a Minot hospital.
Connie was born January 28, 1940, near Ryder, ND to Julius and Alice (Thompson) Brandvold. She received her elementary education in Vang Township of Ward County and moved on to attend Dakota Lutheran Academy in Minot, graduating in 1958. Connie continued her education in Minneapolis at the Lutheran Bible Institute until her return to Minot, where she attended Minot State University and Minot Business College. Connie went to work for Souris River Telephone in Minot, prior to her marriage.
Connie was united in marriage to Elmer Mason on June 16, 1962. They lived briefly in Minot. A move to Kentucky followed and their lives were lived between Kentucky and North Dakota on the family farmstead located Northeast of Ryder, ND, while Elmer was serving his country overseas. In July 1975, they returned to Minot. This union would be blessed with four daughters.
Connie provided child care to area families and was a dry cleaning clerk for Bray’s Cleaners for approximately 18 years. She worked numerous jobs in the customer service industry up until 2018 retiring from the Market Place Bakery.
Connie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She kept her hands active with sewing and embroidery work. She loved word search and solitaire. Connie will be remembered most for her smile and her loving personality. She made a positive impact on everyone she met.
Connie is survived by her daughters Connie (Mike) Perry, Austin, TX, Alice Anderson, Houston, TX, Laura Bergren, Minot, ND and Emma (Paul) Glessing, Mohall, ND; grandchildren Josh (Andrea Perry) Rumbaut, Laurel (Dominic) Hernandez, Samantha (Jeremy) Marsh, Chad Anderson (Tom Sumrow) all from Texas, Chalee (Billie) Hager, Sean Bergren, Minot, ND and Kayla Desjardins, Mohall, ND; great grandchildren, Santana, Milo, Marcello, Atticus and Evelyn Hernandez all of Texas, Thomas, Jamie, and Patty Hager, all of Burlington, ND; brothers Paul Brandvold and his children and John (Shirley) Brandvold and their children along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Connie was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer; brother, Carl Brandvold, sister-in-law Marcella Brandvold and in-laws, Emma, Laura, Augustus, Violet and Sherman in Kentucky.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2023, at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.
