Sandy Getzlaff, 64, Minot died on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in a Minot hospital following respiratory complications from lung cancer treatment. Her loving family was at her side.

Sandra May Getzlaff was born on March 9, 1958 in Minot to Verlane and Lillian (Holen) Carlson. She was raised in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1976.

Sandy married Perry Getzlaff on October 14, 1977 in Minot. They made their home in Minot where they were the proud parents of Jason and Jodi. Sandy was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Trinity Nursing Home for forty-nine years. During that time, she was also a home health nurse in the Minot area for several years.

Sandy was a former member of Augustana Lutheran Church – Minot and currently a member of Christ Lutheran Church – Minot. She especially enjoyed outdoor activities. Summers were spent camping and fishing at Lake Sakakawea. Fall time was spent bow hunting with her husband Perry. She was especially fond of her grandchildren and her yorkies. In her spare time at home, she loved to find a new recipe to try and enjoyed shopping online for the latest gadget. Sandy will be missed deeply by all her family and friends.

Sandy’s loving family includes her husband of 45 years: Perry; daughter: Jodi (Justin) Dauphinais of Portland, OR; daughter-in-law: Theresa Getzlaff of Minot; grandchildren: Brandon, Katy, Paige and Harper Dauphinais; father: Verlane Carlson of Minot and several aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.

Sandy was preceded in death by her son: Jason Getzlaff, mother: Lillian Carlson, sister: Debbie Meschke and nieces: Jennifer Dalen and Heather Meschke.

Celebration of the Life of Sandy Getzlaff: Friday, February 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church – Minot. A livestream of the service may be viewed by accessing the link in Sandy’s website obituary.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens – Minot.

Visitation: Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
