Peter F. Fjeldahl Jr.—-75, Berthold, ND, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in a Minot Hospital.

Peter Fay “Punk” Fjeldahl was born on May 30, 1947, a son of Peter D. and Joyce (Haugen) Fjeldahl in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in the Berthold, ND area where he attended Togen Township School and graduated from Berthold High School in 1965.

On November 17, 1966, Peter was drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Conflict, and was honorably discharged on November 5, 1968.

Peter was united in marriage to Mary Malone on September 26, 1970. They made their home on the Fjeldahl farm near Berthold, ND, where together they raised their family, farmed, and ranched.

Peter enjoyed cooking, baking, and doing anything for his grandchildren, “Papa Pete” would serve as a pet sitter, take them for tractor rides or even mule rides. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends having coffee at the Schatz Econostop and looking at crops. Peter was a member of the Mandan Township Board, and volunteered at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Berthold.

Peter is survived by:

Wife of 52 years, Mary Kay; children: Todd (Marlene) Fjeldahl, Lori Fjeldahl, Cindy (Michael) Wille, Kim (Scott) Lentz; four grandchildren: Connor and Catelynn Wille, Jackson and Avery Lentz; sister Cathy (David) Howery; sister-in-law Maggie (Bill) Demaree.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers David Fjeldahl and Roger Fjeldahl, a niece DeAnn Howery, sister-in-law Barbara Malone.

Visitation: Sunday, February 5, 2023 from noon until 2 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service: Monday, February 6, 2023 at 11 am at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot

Burial: Will take place in the spring at Rolling Green Cemetery, rural Des Lacs, ND
