Dyron Leroy Howell, “Howie” of Bloomington, Minn., passed away peacefully Monday, February 13, 2023, at the youthful age of 88.
Dyron was born on October 15, 1934, and grew up in Minot, ND. He was the only child of Clifford and Aveline Howell.
After graduating from Minot H.S. in 1953, he served in the military. In 1955, Dyron married Delores Marum and they shared 28 wonderful years of marriage until her passing. Together they raised two boys, Dan and Darin.
In 1986, he married Betty Johnstone. They spent the next 32 years making memories together until her death.
Dyron was a Truck Driver for 42 years with Super Valu. During that time, he earned Minnesota’s prestigious “Truck Driver of the Year” award in 1989. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union as well as the Elks Lodge.
Known for his kindness and belly laughing stories, Dyron was a friend to all. He was happy to help those around him whether it was through a piece of advice or a helping hand. He found joy spending time with his family and friends, knowing each day was a gift to be treasured.
Dyron was preceded in death by Delores, Betty, and his parents Clifford and Aveline Howell.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel (Lori) Howell, Darin (Lynn) Howell, two granddaughters, Beth (Michael) Suelzle, Sarah (Jacob) Drebelbis and five great grandchildren, Joshua, Eliora, Sophia, Levi and Calvin.
A celebration of life, with lunch, will be held Sunday February 26th at 1 p.m. The celebration of life will be at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave, S. Edina Minn, 55435.
Dyron’s final resting place will be in Minot, North Dakota.
