Harold Wald—–89, Norwich, ND, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 in his home with his loving family at his side.
Harold was born on June 8, 1933, one of thirteen children born to Joe and Anna (Boehm) Wald on the Wald Family Homestead in Norwich, ND. He was raised on the family farm near Norwich, ND and attended Surrey Public School, graduating in 1951.
On April 3, 1956, Harold was united in marriage to Elayne Johnson at St. Leo The Great Roman Catholic Church. They made their home on the Wald Farm, where together they raised their seven daughters and one son. On the farm they raised wheat, barley, oats, and in addition raised cows, pigs, rabbits and chickens, retiring in 1998.
Harold was an active member of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, where he served Mass, was a Eucharistic Minister, ushered and counted the offering. In addition, he was as a 4th Degree Knight, served on church council and the Serra Club.
Harold enjoyed walking around the section line checking crops, attending Mass, visiting with friends, and especially enjoyed his family.
He was someone who could be depended on. He worked hard, loved his family and friends and practiced his faith devoutly. He was serious and steady, fun-loving and goofy, proud yet so humble.
