Glenburn

David Alan Ashley, 71, Glenburn, ND, passed away January 1, 2023 at a Minot Hospital.

David was born November 14, 1951 son of William and Mildred (Moen) Ashley in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in the Plaza area graduating from Plaza High School.

David married the love of his life, Vickey Dolan on June 30, 1973 in Stanley, ND.

He worked for Mr. Ames at the Ruthville Conoco from 1973 until 1984. On January 1, 1985, David opened his own shop, Dave’s Repair in Glenburn which he still owned and operated until present day.

David’s day was not complete without meeting with his breakfast group in the mornings at city hall and the gas station.

He was very active in the community. He was the President of the Glenburn Fire Dept., an EMT for the Glenburn Ambulance, a city council member, drove school bus for many years and was a past member of the Lion’s Club.

Mr. Ashley your life was a blessing. Love you, Poopsie, with all my love, Vickey.

His loving family includes:

Wife of 49 years, Vickey; their dog, Cooper; sister, Julane (Terrance) Reese, Plaza, ND; brothers-in-law, Robert Dolan, Burlington, ND and Randy Dolan, Stanley, ND; nieces, Rebecca (Farren) Wold, Plaza, ND; nephews, Daniel (Tracy) Resse, Sidney, MT and Chad (Jodie) Boutning, Witchia, KS; great-nieces and nephews, Trevor Wold (fiancée Rachel), Victoria Wold, Terrance Reese, Shelby Reese; and several cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Michael Ashley, in-laws, Thomas and Millie Dolan, sisters-in-law, Kathy Dolan and Joanne Cordes.

Per David’s wishes cremation will take place and there will be no formal services.
