Daniel Leo Koenig was born July 9 1931 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Rugby, to Simon and Lena (Volk) Koenig. He went to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 5th, 2023 peacefully and surrounded by his family.

He married Delores Gross on June 30, 1953 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Balta.

Daniel is survived by his Wife Delores of Rugby; Children, Kathy Kramer (WesTorgerson), Max, Mark (Glory) Koenig, Rugby, Susan (Brian) Blessum, Rugby, Diane (Steve) Feist, Edgeley, Steve Koenig (Darla Knaust), Lisbon, Lisa (Brian) Hoffart, Surprise, AZ, Rick (Teri) Koenig, Rugby; 21 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph; infant brother Stanley; Sisters in law MaryAnn Bickler and Jackie Gross; Brothers in law, Richard Bickler, Richard Gross and Glen Schlict.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday January 10th at 11:00 am at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with spring burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with Rosary and Vigil Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby.
