Bertha Schell was Born August 14, 1930 in Harvey, ND to Mike and Felicitis (Krenzel) Hager of Balta. Bertha attended country school in Hillside Township through the 8th grade and attended high school in Balta and Rugby.

She married Edward Schell on September 18, 1950 at Sacred Heart Church in Orrin, ND. She passed away on Monday January 2, 2023 at the age of 92 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.

Bertha is survived by sons, Rollie (Marlene) St. Cloud, MN, Mike (Brenda) Valley City, ND, Kim (Sue) St. Paul, MN, Russ (Staci) Longmont, CO and daughters, Karleen Rathman, Brighton CO, Deanne (Andy) Fedje, Rugby ND.

She is survived by 12 grandchildren;13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother Rudy Hager, Albuquerque, NM, sisters Agnes Schell, Minot, ND and Rita (Gary) Thomas, Green Valley, AZ, sister-in-law Delores Hager, Rugby, ND and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eddie, sister Rose Hoffart Weninger, brother Edmund Hager; brothers-in-law Valentine Schell and Marty Hoffart.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday January 7th at 11:00 am at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with spring burial in the church cemetery. Father Franklin Miller, Celebrant

Visitation will be Friday (Today) January 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with Rosary, Vigil Prayer Service and sharing of memories beginning at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby. There will be no reviewal in the church.
