Mitchell Olson
Mitchell N. Olson, âMickey or Oleã, 67, passed away December 2nd, 2022 surrounded by his family in Kansas. He is survived by his sister Marlaine Olson of Minnesota; son Cadon Brown of Nebraska; daughter Emily (Russell) Bathurst of Kansas; three granddaughters Rilee, Peyton, and Hadlee Bathurst; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Elaine (Ellison) Olson. Over the years Mickey lived in several different states: North Dakota where he was born and raised and developed the love of hunting pheasant, Nebraska where he worked as a lineman for 20+ years and his children were born and raised; Wyoming where he worked for Rocky Mountain Power as a lineman working all hours and in the dead of winter, Minnesota where he spent time with his sister and worked for suncountry airlines; Kansas where he spent the last few months Page: 1 of his life getting to know his granddaughters and find peace at his daughterás house in the country. Mickey touched a lot of hearts over his 67 years of life, from his family to friends, to strangers he met on the many golf courses he had the pleasure of experiencing. Golf was a favorite past time of Mickeyás, even when he could no longer swing a club he spent hours watching it on TV. He also had a passion for watching football, his two favorite teams were the Denver Broncos and the Nebraska Huskers. He also enjoyed playing pool (just like his father), watching nascar, spending time in his car, that we came to name his office, where he would listen to his favorite music and watch the clouds roll by, and attending his granddaughters softball tournaments where he would pace all along the fence lines trying to get as close to the action as possible yelling âLET àR RIP!ã He will forever be missed, but the memories he created can never be forgotten. From his âdog jawã pranks, his ornery streaks, to his one liners, he will live on in all of us. His favorite prayer: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. We will miss you forever and love you always, Dad. -Emi A celebration of life will be held in spring/summer of 2023 in Velva, ND.
