Shirley I. Brown, 87,

Minot, ND, formerly of

Mohall, ND, passed away

Thursday, October 6,

2022, at Trinity Homes in

Minot, with her best

friend, Janet Dammen, by

her side.

Shirley I. Knutson was

born February 13, 1935 to

Marvin and Pearl (Peter-

son) Knutson, in Mohall,

North Dakota. She was

raised in Mohall and gra-

duated from the local high

school in 1953. Shirley

moved to Washington

State in the late 1960’s

and worked in the retail

market. She moved to

Minot, North Dakota in

the early 1980’s to be with

her mother. There Shirley

was employed by

Herberger’s Department

Store for several years and

then she retired to care for

her mother.

Shirley’s love for an-

imals and passion for col-

lecting vintage jewelry

throughout her life will

bring fond memories for

those who knew her. She

also enjoyed painting, gar-

dening and playing cards

with her friends.

Her immediate family

includes: Joydeen M.

Whitney of Moses Lake,

WA, daughter; Jamie L

Whitney and Jena P Whit-

ney of Moses Lake, WA,

granddaughters; Gregory

M Whitney and Gabriella

E Whitney of Moses Lake,

WA, great-grandchildren;

and Mason Gonzalez

Whitney of Moses Lake,

WA, her great

great-grandson.

She was preceded in

death by her parents Mar-

vin and Pearl Knutson;

and sons, Douglas M

Brown and Gregory L

Brown.

Memorial Service: took

place on Monday, October

10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home Chapel, Minot.

Interment: Mohall

Cemetery, Mohall, ND.
