Harvey after a short stay.

Funeral services will be

held at the Faith Lutheran

Church of Harvey on

Monday, Oct. 17, 2022 at

10:30 a.m. Visitation will

be held at the Hertz Fun-

eral Home of Harvey on

Sunday, Oct. 16 from 2-5

p.m. Prayer service will

be on Sunday at 5 p.m. at

the funeral home. Burial

will be in the Sunnyside

Cemetery of Harvey fol-

lowing the funeral ser-

vice.

Doris was born on June

27, 1931 on the family

farm west of Harvey. She

was the daughter of Carl

and Nora (Loken) Theige.

Doris attended rural

school and the Harvey

Public Schools and gra-

duated from Harvey High

School in 1949. Doris

married her high school

sweetheart, C. Don

Nyhus, on Nov. 20, 1949

in Harvey. They lived in

Harvey where Don

worked for New York Life

and Doris raised four

sons. The couple was

married for 55 years until

Don’s death in 2004.

Doris was a member of

Faith Lutheran Church of

Harvey, and was a

member of the Order of

the Eastern Star and the

P.E.O. She enjoyed at-

tending Harvey sporting

events of her children and

grandchildren, and con-

tinued to be a fan of Har-

vey High School sports,

listening to games days

before her death. She

especially enjoyed her

church family, and was

pleased to share her faith

in Jesus with anyone.

Doris was proud to be

called Grandma Doris by

her grandchildren, great

grandchildren, children,

and just about everyone

else.

Doris is survived by her

four sons, Dr. Corey

(Wanda) Nyhus of Per-

ham, MN, Dr. Curt (Lisa-

beth) Nyhus of West Far-

go, Dr. Chuck (Shari)

Nyhus of Harvey, Craig

Nyhus of Vergas, MN, 10

grandchildren, two

step-grandchildren, 21

great-grandchildren; and

sister Hazel Bowlinger of

Harvey.

Doris was preceded in

death by her parents;

brothers Morris Theige

and Kenneth Theige; and

sister Norma Haugen.
