Vivian Seier

March 16, 1928 – Sept. 8, 2022

Vivian Seier, 94, Minot,

died Thursday, September

8, 2022, in a Minot nurs-

ing care facility.

Vivian was born March

16, 1928, on the Hagen

family farm in Bottineau

County, North Dakota lo-

cated northeast of Bot-

tineau, ND to Ole Jr. and

Olga (Aasness) Hagen.

She was educated in

country school during her

early years and completed

high school in Bottineau.

Vivian married Charles

Seier on December 23,

1948, in Bottineau, North

Dakota. They lived with

her family for a couple of

years on the farm, moved

to Chicago for a brief time

and returned to North

Dakota in the mid 1950’s,

planting their roots in

Minot.

Vivian was blessed to

care for her three boys at

home while Charles

worked for International

Brands (Sweetheart Bak-

ery). She started working

in the school lunch pro-

gram at Jim Hill Middle

School in 1967, serving

youngsters for nearly two

decades until she retired

following the passing of

her husband on August 7,

1985.

Vivian was a member of

Minot’s Bethany Lutheran

Church, where she was

active in circle and with

the quilters of the church.

She enjoyed volunteering

for Hostfest activities

through the church that

lead to friendships that

she treasured over the

years. Vivian used the

talents of her hands to

create many works

through sewing, quilting,

and knitting. She will be

missed deeply for the love

she shared with family.

Vivian is survived by

her son John (Julie) Seier,

Minot; daughter-in-law

Phyllis Seier, Thornton,

CO; grandchildren An-

drew (Kaylee) Seier, Katie

(Nicholas) Johnson, Lucas

Seier, Emily Seier, and

Benjamin Seier;

great-grandchildren Tuck-

er, Pepper, Owen, Hen-

drix, Charlotte, and

Oliver; and several nieces

and nephews.

Vivian was preceded in

death by her parents, hus-

band, sons, Mark and Jeff

Seier and grandchildren

Amy and Matthew Seier.

Thomas Family Funeral

Interment: Rosehill

Memorial Park, Minot

Visitation: Thursday,

September 15, 2022, from

6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

at the Thomas Family

Funeral Home, Minot.
