Lois Ellis

Lois A. Ellis, 79, Minot,

ND, formerly of Des Lacs,

ND, passed away on Mon-

day, July 18, 2022 in a

Minot hospital.

Lois Arlene Moen was

born on August 11, 1942,

a daughter of Oscar and

Evon Moen, in Spokane,

WA. She was raised in the

Stanley, ND area, where

she attended rural schools

and graduated from Stan-

ley High School in 1960.

On August 3, 1961, Lois

was united in marriage to

Robert ” Skip” Ellis. They

made their home in vari-

ous locations throughout

North Dakota, South

Dakota and Minnesota,

before settling in Des

Lacs, ND, where together

they raised their family.

Lois was a member of

the Peace Lutheran

Church, Burlington, ND.

She enjoyed reading,

listening to music and

learning about family his-

tory. She discovered some

of her own family history

while working for EOG

conducting research on

landowners. When she

was able, Lois enjoyed

traveling to spend time

with family and attending

her children’s and

grandchildren’s school

and sports activities.

Lois was a loving Nana,

Mom, wife, sister, aunt

and friend who will be

greatly missed.

Lois is survived by:

Husband of 61 years,

Robert ” Skip” Ellis; chil-

dren: Michele (Norman)

Barnes of Seattle, WA;

Craig (Judy) Ellis of Fort

Collins, CO; Nicole (Pa-

trick) Mobley of Minot.,

ND; three grandchildren:

Emma, Zoe, Kieryn and

Liam; siblings: Carol John-

son, Sandra (Dwyght)

Lindberg; brother-in-law

James “Jim” Johnson; as

well as many nieces,

nephews and cousins

Lois was preceded in

death by her parents, Os-

car and Evon Moen; her

sister Susan Johnson and

a brother-in-law Les John-

son.

Visitation: There will be

no reviewal as cremation

has taken place, however,

friends may sign a guest

register on Tuesday, Au-

gust 9, 2022 one hour pri-

or to the service at Peace

Lutheran Church, Bur-

lington, ND.

Memorial Service:

Tuesday, August 9, 2022,

at 11 am at Peace Luth-

eran Church, Burlington.
