Daniel Wolf

Jan. 20, 1940 – July 27, 2022

Daniel Anton Wolf was

born January 20, 1940 in

Rugby, North Dakota, the

youngest child born to

Alex and Mary Wolf. Dan

was raised in Knox, North

Dakota, graduating from

Knox High School in

1958.

Dan joined the North

Dakota National Guard,

attended basic training at

Ft. Leonard Wood, MO,

obtained his advance

training as a mechanic in

Ft. Riley, Kansas and

served in the 164th Bat-

talion from 1959-1963.

Dan married Kathy Van

Natta in Knox, ND on Au-

gust 8, 1960 and to this

union four children were

born, Robert, David, Ron-

da and Patrick. Dan and

Kathy later divorced.

Dan worked as a

mechanic in Wolford, ND

before being activated by

the Guard during the Cu-

ban Missile Crisis and be-

ing relocated to Ft. Riley,

Kansas where Dan, Kathy

and young Robert were

stationed.

Upon returning to ND,

they moved to Minot

where he was employed

by a missile site contrac-

tor and Westlie Motor Co.

Dan was very active

with Nodak Race Club,

specifically building en-

gines for Doug Groves’

sprint car for 10 years. In

1968, Dan and his

brother-in-law, Gene

Klein, owned and operat-

ed Nodak Motors until

Dan moved to Spokane,

WA in 1970.

Dan married Nancy He-

trick on August 29, 1975.

From this union 2 chil-

dren were born, Trisha

and Tyra.

A welder by trade, Dan

worked for various weld-

ing shops in the Spokane

area as well as starting

Dan’s Welding and Fabri-

cation, which he ran on

and off until his retire-

ment.

Dan is survived by his

wife, Nancy, his 6 chil-

dren, Robert (Lisa) of

Minot, ND; David(Chris)

of Spokane, Ronda (John)

of Mt. Arlington, NJ, Pa-

trick of Minot, Trisha

(Curtis) of Seattle and

Tyra (Nick) of Spokane,

12 grandchildren and 4

great-grandchildren, sis-

ters Irene of Devils Lake,

ND, Elizabeth, Port Wash-

ington, WI, brother Fritz

(Verena) of Rugby, ND,

and brother-in-law Gene

Klein, of Minot.

Dan is preceded in

death by his parents and

sisters Mary and Lorraine.

Celebration of Life will

be held August 20, 2022

at 11 a.m. at the East Point

Church, Spokane Valley,

which will be

live-streamed on

YouTube. A gathering will

also be held Stormin

Norman’s Shipfaced

Saloon at 2:00 p.m.
