Rae Lee

Rae Lee, 86, Max, ND,
passed away Wednesday,
June 22, 2022, in his
home.
Rae Donald Lee was
born December 28, 1935,
the son of Peter “Ted” and
Clara (Kjar) Lee, in Lis-
bon, ND. He was raised
and educated near De
Lamere, ND, and graduat-
ed from De Lamere High
School.
He enlisted in the Unit-
ed States Army in January
of 1954. He attended basic
training in Fort Riley,
Kansas and Fort Devens,
Massachusetts. Rae
proudly served his coun-
try and was stationed in
Germany. He was honor-
ably discharged in De-
cember of 1956.
Following his honorable
discharge, he worked for
the North Dakota High-
way Department from
1957-1958. He then
worked in the oil field un-
til 1961.
Rae married Bonnie
Ceynar on August 15,
1959, in Minot. They
made their home in New
Town until 1961. The
couple later moved to
Kansas. He joined the
Ironworkers and moved
back to North Dakota in
March of 1963, where he
worked various construc-
tion jobs around the state.
He also worked for
Lawrence Brothers in Tio-
ga and Johnson Tower
Service in Minot.
He was a member of
Ironworkers Local 512
since 1961, and a lifetime
member of the Minot Elks
since 1969.
He enjoyed staying
busy working cattle or do-
ing various jobs.
His loving family in-
cludes: wife of 62 years,
Bonnie, Max; children,
Crystal (Ervin) Flath,
Garrison, ND, and Donald
(Sandra) Lee, Fort Lupton,
CO; 5 grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren;
brother, Ronnie (Joyce)
Lee, Brooklyn Center,
MN; brother in-law, Gary
(Janice) Ceynar, Glendive
MT; and several nieces,
nephews and cousins. He
was preceded in death by
his parents, Peter “Ted”
and Clara Lee; brother,
Richard (Lyla) Lee.
Funeral: Tuesday, June
28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home Chapel, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park, Minot,
ND.
