Monday, June 6, 2022 in
her home, surrounded by
her loving family.
Peggy Jean Rue was
born October 30, 1950.
The daughter of Rueben
and Dorothy (Hanson)
Rue in New Rockford, ND.
She spent her childhood
in Sheyenne and Rolla
ND. She moved to Minot
in 1964 where she lived
with her parents and two
sisters, Joann and Shelly.
Peggy married the love
of her life, David Burck-
hard on August 4, 1973,
in Minot, ND. They start-
ed their family in Surrey,
ND. They later moved to
Minot and continued to
grow their family.
Peggy and David are
members of St. Leo the
Great Catholic Church in
Minot.
Peggy devoted her life
and love to her husband
and their 8 children. Peg-
gy was a selfless woman
who chose to live a simple
and content life. The loss
of her oldest child, Todd,
reinforced her belief that
family is everything and
time with family should
not be taken for granted.
Each year she looked for-
ward to vacationing with
all her loved ones in Min-
nesota. Her home was al-
ways open for those in
need of a hot cup of coffee
and her wisdom.
Peggy was an avid
reader and known for her
extensive collection of
books. She looked for-
ward to her weekly trips
to the library, often ac-
companied by her
grandchildren. Peggy and
David have 12 grandchil-
dren and 1 great
grandchild.
Her loving family in-
cludes: Husband of 48
years, David Burckhard;
Children: Rachael (Khris)
Walz, Angela (Eric) Shaw,
Natalie Burckhard, Emily
(Blake) Bauer, Joel (Cait)

hard, Gannon and Emree

Haisley, Otto and Milo
Bauer, Parker Burckhard;
Great-Grandchild: Bentley

Peggy was preceded in
death by her parents, Rue-
ben and Dorothy Rue; Sis-
ter, Joann Maj; Son, Todd
Burckhard.

Leo the Great Catholic
Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park, Minot,
ND.
Visitation: Sunday from
5 to 6 p.m. at St. Leo the
Great Catholic Church,
Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service:
Sunday at 6 p.m. at St.
Leo the Great Catholic
Church, Minot.
