Nathan Wohlk, 42,
Ryder, ND, died Friday,
May 27, 2022 from inju-
ries sustained in a motor
vehicle accident near
Douglas, ND.
Nathan Joel Wohlk was
born on August 31, 1979,
the son of Lydell and
Wendy (Ike) Wohlk in
Minot, ND. He was raised
on the Wohlk family farm
near Ryder, ND and gra-
duated from North Shore
High School in 1997. He
furthered his education by
attending Wyoming Tech,
where he graduated with
a degree in Autobody
repair.
Following his gradua-
tion he returned to Minot,
and began working at
Prairie Truck Equipment.
He worked a variety of
blue collar jobs such as,
diesel mechanic, con-
struction, and oil field
work. He was once mar-
ried to DelRae Hoffert. To
this union four daughters
were born Lanie, Nia, Jae-
da and Jetta. The couple
later divorced.
In 2013, Nathan was the
recipient of a Kidney tran-
splant from his cousin,
Holly DeWitz. From this
gift, he was able to enjoy
life to the fullest for six
years before his disease
returned. Nathan had
many health concerns
during his adult life due
to battling this kidney
disease.
On September 26, 2020,
Nathan was united in
marriage to Nichole Ben-
nett at Hiddenwood Lake.
They made their home
near Ryder, ND, with
Nathan’s four daughters
and Nichole’s four chil-
dren,Teagan, Leila, Alivia,
and Savaily.
Family was the most
important thing to
Nathan. His children
fondly remember going
for rides in different
trucks or project cars with
their dad and singing all
their favorite songs. Their
favorite phrase was “Drop
the Hammer” when it was
time to really step on it.
Nathan and his family
spent many years camp-
ing, boating, and fishing
at different spots around
North Dakota. He enjoyed
hunting with family and
friends. He especially
loved taking his children
and nephews out to look
for pheasant, deer, or coy-
otes. Nathan was always
down for a race, he drove
many race cars real and
make shift throughout the
years. He participated in
races, pickup pulls, and
mud runs. Nathan always
had more projects than
time, tinkering on four
wheelers, motorcycles,
cars, trucks, and even golf
carts. He spoke highly of
his time under the hood
with his father, Lydell.
Nathan is survived by:
Wife, Nichole; children,
Lanie (Austin), Nia, Jaeda
and Jetta; grandson,
Sawyer; parents, Lydell
andWendy;
mother-in-law,Sherry
Bennett; two sisters,
Heather (Shawn Kluver)
Schoenborn, and Heidi
(Brian) Walsh; nieces and
nephews, Alex, Matthew,
Lucas, Dalton and Triston;
maternal grandmother,
Mabel Ike; step-children,
Teagan, Leila, Alivia, Sa-
vaily; and his beloved
chocolate lab, Lip.
Nathan was preceded
in death by his
grandparents, Lloyd Ike,
Henry (Evelyth) Wohlk;
Nichole’s grandparents,
Harvey and Julia Bennett;
cousin Troy Wohlk; aunts
and uncles, Wayne Rouse,
Marilyn Wohlk, Diane
Wohlk, Joey (Gail) Patter-
son; and his beloved hu-
sky, Snoop.
Visitation: Sunday,
June 5, 2022 from 3 until
5 pm at Thompson-Larson
Funeral Home, Minot
Funeral Service: Mon-
day, June 6, 2022 at 11 am
at Ryder Gymnasium,
Ryder, ND
Burial: Ryder Commun-
ity Cemetery, Ryder, ND
with lunch to follow at
Hiddenwood Lake.
