Larry Louis Britton, 59,
Highland, CA, formerly of
Velva, passed away on
May 29, 2010 at Redlands
Community Hospital.
Larry and his twin sis-
ter, Mary, were born Sep-
tember 28, 1950 in Minot
to Marvin and Regina
(Rath) Britton. Larry and
Mary were both raised
and educated in Velva.
After graduation, Larry
headed to California and
joined the Ironworkers
Union 416. He worked in
construction for 35 years
before he retired.
His hobbies included
woodworking, fishing,
hunting, gardening, hor-
seshoes, and cooking. He
loved spending time with
his friends and all of his
family.
Mary Lou Britton, 71,
Velva, passed away on
December 8, 2021, at the
Souris Valley Care Center
in Velva.
Mary enjoyed bingo,
league bowling, word
games, and most of all her
loving pets including rab-
bits, cats, and dogs. Her
favorites were Scrappy,
Cotton Boy, and Kiki, to
name a few.
Mary was a member of
Oak Valley Lutheran
Church and worked at the
Velva Cafe and Velva
Bowling Alley. Mary and
her mother Regina often
worked for area homes as
house-cleaners. In later
years, Mary was a care-
giver to her parents until
they passed.
Larry and Mary are sur-
vived by their brother,
Ted Britton, Velva; Larry’s
four daughters, Michelle
(Tim) Kelley, April (Pa-
trick) Britton-Dias, Nancy
(Vidal) Britton-Diaz, and
Kimberly Britton; nieces,
Tracey (Casey)
Britton-Lucero, Jill Brit-
ton, and Jessica Carow;
and other extended fami-
ly.
Larry and Mary were
preceded in death by their
parents, Marvin and Regi-
na.
A Memorial service will
be held for Larry and
Mary on Saturday, June
18, 2022 at Oak Valley
Lutheran Church in Velva
at 10:30 a.m. The service
will be livestreamed for
the public to view and
can be accessed by going
to the Oak Valley Luth-
eran Church Velva, ND
YouTube page. Burial will
follow at the Velva Com-
munity Cemetery at 12:30
p.m. Memorials are pre-
ferred to the Velva Ambu-
lance, Souris Valley Care
Center, or the Oak Valley
Lutheran Church for the
Re-Roof the Church Pro-
