Audrey Hensley
April 17, 1937 – June 26, 2022
Audrey was born April
17, 1937, in Minot, ND to
Perry and Grace (Peter-
sen) Leathes. She attend-
ed Minot Public Schools
and graduated from Minot
High School in 1955. As a
young adult, she lived in
Burlington, ND and found
employment at the local
cafe’s.
Audrey was united in
marriage to Carson ‘Bert’
Hensley on July 1, 1964,
in Minot. They lived in
Burlington as she contin-
ued her career in the res-
taurant industry at Ha-
cienda, Speedway and
Charlies Cafe retiring in
1998 after more than 40
years of service to custo-
mers.
Bert passed away on
December 18, 2014.
Audrey was a member
of Peace Lutheran Church
in Burlington. She en-
joyed reading, a good
crossword puzzle and was
an avid bowler. She also
enjoyed playing Bingo.
Audrey will be remem-
bered for her quick wit
and humor.
Audrey is survived by
her children Shelley
(Wayne) Semrau, Minot,
ND and Mark (Becky)
Hensley, Audubon, MN;
grandchildren Lindsey
Copley (JJ), Fairfax, OK,
and Jason (Tara) Copley,
Fargo, ND; seven great
grandchildren; sister San-
dy (Don) Dormanen, Ruso
ND; brother Sam (Mavis)
Leathes, Colorado
Springs, CO;
sisters-in-law Amy
(James) Roebuck, Jackson,
MS and Elizabeth Craven,
Collinsville, MS along
with numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Audrey was preceded
in death by her parents,
husband, Carson ‘Bert’
Hensley, brother Howard,
sister Patty Vannett,
sisters-in-law Helen
Brown, Tommie Seal, and
Midy Holt.
Celebration of Audrey’s
Life: 1:30 p.m. Friday,
July 1, 2022, at Peace
Lutheran Church, Bur-
lington with visitation one
hour prior to the start of
the service.
Interment: Burlington
Township Cemetery, Bur-
lington, ND
Memorials are preferred
to Strawberry Lake Im-
provement Association,
Trinity Homes or to the
Trinity Health Founda-
tion.
