Robert Herdt, age 80, of
Belcourt, ND passed away
on Thursday, May 19,
2022 at his home.
Robert “Bob” Clyde
Herdt was born on June
17, 1941 in Glenburn, ND
to Walter and Ida (Salseg)
Herdt. He was raised in
Glenburn and graduated
from Glenburn High
School. He furthered his
education earning at
Bachelor Degree in secon-
dary education at Minot
State University and later
obtained a Master’s De-
gree in education at Ore-
gon State. Bob was united
in marriage to Della
Poitra-Parisien on Sep-
tember 3, 1977 at St.
Benedict’sCatholic
Church in Belcourt. He
loved time spent with his
wife, step-children, and
grandchildren, all whom
brought so much joy to
his life. Bob taught at Bel-
court Schools for over 41
years before retiring. He
enjoyed being outdoors,
gardening, hunting, fish-
ing, and going to the lake.
Bob was often seen driv-
ing his green pickup
around and was always
up for a visit. He liked
visiting with family and
friends, often telling
stories of days past. Bob
also liked reading and en-
joyed writing his Christ-
mas letter every year. He
will be lovingly remem-
bered and greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his
loving wife, Della Herdt of
Belcourt; step-children,
Kenneth “Rusty” (Donna)
Parisien, Audrey Parisien,
Bruce (Raylene) Parisien,
and Keith Parisien; five
grandchildren, Jennifer
(Robert) Mesa, Clint (Jes-
sica) Parisien, Russ Par-
isien, Audrey (Chris) Ber-
cier, and Chelsea Parisien;
great grandchildren, Britt,
Brey, Robbie Rose, Kody,
Tucker, and Camille; sis-
ters, Fran Secord, Bev
Merck, and Dollie New-
gard; and many nieces
and nephews.
Bob was preceded in
death by his parents and
siblings, twin brother Ray-
mond Herdt, Lonnie
Blackketter, Butch Herdt,
Sally Poindexter, Frank
Herdt, and Eunice Herdt.
A Funeral Mass will be
held on Friday, May 27,
2022 at 10:00 AM at St.
John the Baptist Catholic
Church, St. John, ND with
a visitation beginning at
8:00 AM and Rosary
Service/Eulogy at 9:00 AM
prior to the funeral mass.
Burial will follow services
at St. Ann’s Catholic
Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
