Gubrud, 79, Antler, died
Wednesday, April 27,
2022, at a Minot hospital.
She was born Nov. 24,
1942, in Antler, to Tennes
and Iola (Mason) Tofte-
land. She was raised in
Antler and graduated
from Antler High School
in 1960.
Shirley was united in
marriage to Arnold Gu-
brud on June 23, 1960.
She worked at an Antler
grocery store and a cafe until staying home to
raise their son.
Shirley was a member
of the Antler Community
Church until it closed, the
Club or Progress
homemakers group, and
worked with the local
election board. She en-
joyed babysitting, knit-
ting, baking, making lefse
and visiting. She also as-
sisted with the making of
the North Dakota State
Quilt. She enjoyed riding
around Antler on her golf
cart, and especially
spending time with her
family.
Family: husband of 61
years, Arnold Gubrud,
Antler; son, Kenny (Don-
na) Gubrud, Minot;
grandchildren, Josh
(Shannon) Gubrud, Sher-
wood and Jessica Gubrud,
Jackson, Miss.; 7
great-grandchildren; sis-
ter, Dawn (Eugene) Even-
son, Minot; brother, Barry
(Judy) Tofteland, Minot;
and many nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Shirley was preceded in
death by: her parents,
Tennes and Iola Tofte-
land.
Funeral: 11 a.m.,
Wednesday, May 4, 2022,
at the Bethel Lutheran
Brethren Church, rural
Antler.
Burial: Antler
Cemetery, Antler, later in
the spring.
Visitation: noon to 5
p.m., Tuesday, May 3,
2022, at Brose Funeral
