Mildred (Milly) Ed-
wards, 96, Brooklyn Park,
MN, formerly of Minot,
passed away Friday,
March 25, 2022, at a
Brooklyn Center, MN care
center.
Milly was born No-
vember 24, 1925 in Lans-
ford ND, to James and Hil-
da (Johnson) Knight. She
graduated from Lansford
High School in 1943. She
then attended Minot Busi-
ness School and subse-
quently worked for Inter-
national Harvester.
Milly married Lloyd
(Jim) Edwards on No-
vember 23, 1962. They
made their home in
southwest Minot. Jim
passed away April 21,
1985.
Milly was a
stay-at-home mom who
volunteered regularly at
her children’s schools
while they were growing
up. She enjoyed bowling,
word puzzles, and playing
cards and bingo. Milly
was a wonderful cook and
baker, always making
meals when extended
family visited and her
cookies and baked treats
were enjoyed by all who
stopped in to visit and
have a cup of coffee. She
moved to Brooklyn Park
in 2015 to be closer to
family.
Milly was a longtime
member of Augustana
Lutheran Church before
its closure due to the
flood of 2011, she then be-
came a member of Bread
of Life Lutheran Church.
She was also a longtime
member of the American
Legion Auxiliary.
Milly is survived by her
children: Kimber Lee
(Chris) Thompson,
Prescott Valley, AZ, and
James (Cindy) Edwards of
Brooklyn Park, along with
grandchildren: Matthew,
Jacy, Colin, and Jenna,
brothers-in-law Harold
(Dee) Edwards and Duane
Edwards, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Milly was preceded in
death by her parents; hus-
band Jim; sister Margaret
Knight, and brothers John
and Frank Knight.
Funeral: Friday, April 1,
2022, at 10:00 a.m. at
Bread of Life Lutheran
Church, Minot.
Interment: Sunset
Memorial Gardens, Minot,
ND.
Visitation: Thursday
from 4 to 6 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home, Minot.
