Marlene Schroeder, 81,
moved to her heavenly
home on Feb, 12, 2022,
from Edgewood Vista,
Minot, N.D.
Marlene was born on
June 9, 1940, in Bottineau,
N.D., to Erwin and
Eleanor Wagner. She at-
tended country school
through sixth grade and
graduated from Bottineau
High School in 1958.
She met Dennis
Schroeder in August
1957. They married Oc-
tober 2, 1959. From this
union four children were
born: Steven, Michael,
Joni and Duane.
Other than being a great
mother, she also excelled
in other areas, including
waitressing, running the
ranch when Dennis was
working away, helping
run Max Texaco Service,
working as a bank teller,
and co-owner of Max Gro-
cery Store.
From a young girl, Mar-
lene always loved horses
and was involved with
them all her life.
Marlene’s greatest pride
was her children,
grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren.
She moved to Max in
1959 and bought the Tor-
no farm on the west side
of Max in 1969.
She was preceded in
death by her father and
her mother, her sister Ar-
dys Berg, son-in-law, Ken-
neth Berg, granddaughter,
Brook Schroeder,
son-in-law, Sheldon
Haner, and special friend,
Shirley Jungling.
She is survived by her
loving family, including
her husband of 62 years,
Dennis; her four children,
10 grandchildren, and 11
great-grandchildren.
A memorial service
will be held later this
spring.
