side was born in Minot,

ND on September 12,

1945 to Walter and Avis

King. I loved my Lord, my

family, my church, and

life itself. On February 24,

1968 she married the love

of her life Vaughn Burn-

side in Chesterton, IN.

They had two daughters

Melenie and Kathryn.

After the girls moved out

of the house, Sandy and

Vaughn danced in the liv-

ing room and read about a

million books in retire-

ment, always enjoying

each other’s company (al-

most always!). They

laughed a lot and traveled

with friends, family, and

together as a couple.

Grandchildren were

played with, loved, and

spoiled. Her hobbies were

sewing, cooking, making

pies, gardening, and read-

ing, reading, reading. San-

dy wanted to include –

this was written by San-

dy, she always wanted to

be in charge! A memorial

service will be held in the

spring or summer of 2022.

A memorial fund has

been established in San-

dy’s memory.
