Dorothy E. Sannes, 81,
of Minot, ND, died on
January 7, 2022 in a Minot
hospital surrounded by
her children and
grandchildren. Funeral
services will be held
10:30am on Friday, Janu-
ary 14, 2022 at Zion Luth-
eran Church, 1800 Hiawa-
tha St, Minot with Pastor
John Streccius and Pastor
John Warner officiating.
Burial will be in the Sun-
set Memorial Gardens,
Minot. Visitation will be
held on Thursday from
4pm to 6pm at the
church.
Dorothy was born on
December 18, 1940 in
Westhope, ND, the
daughter of Arthur and
Isabel (McLachlan) Lee.
She was raised and edu-
cated in Westhope where
she graduated from high
school in 1958. Dorothy
attended the school of
Forestry in Bottineau, ND.
Dorothy married Lloyd
O. Sannes in Westhope on
June 28, 1960. They lived
in Westhope until moving
to Minot in 1963. Togeth-
er, they owned and
operated four Standard
Oil Stations. Lloyd died in
March of 1985 and
Dorothy sold the station.
She went to work for
Werner Oil and later went
to work for the North
Dakota Department of Mo-
tor Vehicle where she
worked for many years
serving many local and
loyal customers. She re-
tired from the Motor Vehi-
cle Department and con-
tinued to reside in Minot.
Dorothy was a member
of the former First Pres-
byterian Church and an
original member of the
Flickertail Homemakers
Club. She enjoyed playing
cards, going to bingo, trav-
eling, doing puzzles and
word searches, and
spending time with her
family and friends. She
especially loved being
with her grandchildren
and attending their many
sporting events and func-
tions. Grandma will al-
ways be remembered for
her love of snowman and
her huge collection.

Minot, ND; Loy (Steve)
Axtman of Rugby, ND;
Greg (Kristi) Sannes of
Queen Creek, AZ; Glenda
(Pastor John) Streccius of
Bismarck, ND; Paul (Tam-
mi) Sannes of Washburn,
ND and Nancy (Jay)
Harris of Minot, ND; Six-
teen grandchildren: Lucas
Smestad, Zachary (Alli)
Axtman, Zane Axtman,
Stetson Sannes, Brittan
(Bridgette) Sannes, Phillip
(Jessie) Streccius, Hannah
(Shane Williams), Noah
(Sadie) Streccius, Lloyd
Streccius, Lydia Streccius,
William Sannes, Jack
Sannes, Charlie Sannes,
Naycee (Seth La Bodda)
Harris, Nya (Gannon Mill-
er) Harris and Kersey
Harris; a great grand-
daughter, Brooklyn
Sannes; her brother, Ron-
nie Lee of Billings, MT
and his daughters: Ronda
(Shan) Laurie, Julie
(Loren) Ward and Lynette
(Trevor) Lange; and many
nieces and nephews and
her faithful companion,
Cooper.
She was preceded in
death by her parents, her
husband, Lloyd; her
granddaughter, Emma Lee
Streccius and her
sister-in-law, Ardis Lee.
