Robert Weigel, 84,
Minot, ND, passed away
Wednesday, December 15,
2021, at East Montana
Veteran’s Home in Glen-
dive, MT.
Robert Weigel was born
March 28, 1937, the son of
Thomas and Elizabeth
(Bachmeier) Weigel, in
Drake, ND. He was raised
and educated in Drake,
graduating from Drake
High School in 1956.
Robert served in the
United States Army and
was a veteran of the Kore-
an War. After he was
honorably discharged
from active duty, he
served in the Army
Reserve.
Robert worked as an
auto body man at Fischer
Motors in Minot, from
1958 until his retirement
in 1998. He was inducted
into the ND Autobody
Hall of Fame in 2001.
On December 31, 1960,
Robert married Rose
Hager, in Drake. They
have one son Richard
(Rick), and two daughters
Renee and Rachelle, they
also have 6 grandchildren
and 6 great-grandchildren.
Robert enjoyed working
with his hands and could
build anything. He built a
motorized go-cart for his
kids and taught them how
to drive it, as well as
snowmobiles, motorcy-
cles, cars and even a
camper. He was a talented
woodworker and carver.
He belonged to a wood
workers group in Minot
and many of the things he
made were displayed at
the Minot Public Library.
Robert enjoyed making in-
tricate pieces that his chil-
dren will treasure forever.
Robert also enjoyed gar-
dening.
His children all agree
that he was a great hus-
band and the best father
any child could have
wished to have.
Surviving family in-
cludes: children, Richard
(Patricia) Weigel, Willis-
ton, ND, Renee (Darren)
Tuttle, Greeley, CO, and
Rachelle (Kent)
Fairweather, Littleton,
CO; grandchildren, Sarah,
Ian, and Cullen Weigel;
Melissa (Ira) Mahaffey;
and Michael and Tyler
Fairweather;
great-grandchildren, Ab-
bie, Jayden, and Silas,
Oliver, Nolan, and Scar-
lett; sisters, Martha,
MaryLou, and Sandra;
and numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Robert was preceded in
death by his parents;
wife, Rose Weigel; and his
brother, William.
Mass of Christian
Burial: Tuesday, De-
cember 21, 2021, at 10:00
a.m. at St. Leo the Great
Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park, Minot,
ND.
Visitation: Monday
from 5 to 7 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home, Minot.
