Houim Jr., 59, Tioga, ND

passed away at the Tioga

Medical Center October 5,

2021.

DJ was born May 10,

1962 in Rolette ND to

Mary Ann (Meyer) and

Delmer Houim. He attend-

ed school in Warren,

Minn., and several

schools in ND before re-

ceiving his GED.

DJ married Annette

Moore, Oden, Ind., in

Minot, ND. They made

their home in Velva, ND

for a couple years before

returning to Indiana to

help care for Annette’s

dad and mom. They

moved back to Tioga

where DJ worked for

Roustabout Service and

Insulation until he was

unable to due to illness.

DJ was always a very hard

worker in everything he

did. He donated his time

and talents to many home

projects for his parents,

family, friends and

co-workers including First

Lutheran Church in White

Earth, ND.

DJ’s favorite pastime

was watching his Colts,

never missing a game and

even traveling with family

to watch in person. He

loved his Colts! DJ en-

joyed playing card games,

Dominos and other dice

games whenever time al-

lowed. He was a great

cook and known for his

biscuits and gravy. And

even though he cooked,

you would always find

him washing dishes after

a meal. He especially en-

joyed spending time with

a Very Special 3 yr. old,

Elijah Castro, whom he

called “Bug” since he was

a baby.

DJ is survived by: his

wife Annette, Stepchil-

dren: Heather Burton,

Sarah Nicholas, Bobby

Cox (Catherine) and An-

nie Dixon (Arley) all of In-

diana. Stepgrandchildren:

Aaron Burton, Kyle Bur-

ton, Kendra Burton, Lance

Nicholas, Shelby Nicho-

las, Kaycie Nicholas,

Camden Cox, Ashton Cox,

James Cox, Tristen Verse-

man and Haylee Verse-

man and

Stepgreat-grandson Jaylen

Delmer Amos Shofner all

of Indiana. Sisters and

Brothers: Lucille (Lucy)

Price (Fred) of Velva ND,

Kathleen (Kat) Velva ND,

Danny Houim Tioga ND

and Karen Kittleson (Curt)

Velva ND.

DJ was preceded in

death by: his parents and

sister Sherry Schuyler.

Celebration of Life for

DJ Houim will be Satur-

day, November 6, 2021 at

2 pm in the First Lutheran

Church 6702 97th Ave

NW, White Earth ND

58794. Interment will be

at a later date at Ox Creek

Cemetery, Rolette, ND.
