Dennis E. Peterson

Dennis E. Peterson, 77,

Minot, died Tuesday, Oc-

tober 19, 2021 in a Velva

nursing home.

Dennis Eugene Peterson

was born on December 13,

1943, a son of Lynn F. and

Gladys A. (Glaholt) Peter-

son on the family farm

near Ryder, ND. He was

raised and educated in

Ryder, graduating from

Ryder High School. He

furthered his education

by attending Minot State

College, earning an Ac-

counting degree.

On May 24, 1964,

Dennis was united in mar-

riage to Mary Fjeld in

Minot. They made their

home in Garrison for a

time, where Dennis was

employed at McLean Elec-

tric. In 1969, they moved

to Minot, where Dennis

worked for the City of

Minot and later for Cen-

tral Power, retiring in

2006.

Dennis loved spending

time with his family. He

enjoyed the outdoors

hunting and fishing with

his brother-in-law Ho-

ward Fjeld. Later in life,

Dennis became an avid

golfer and never missed

an opportunity to play a

few holes. He was a proud

member of the Minot

Congregational United

Church of Christ.

Dennis is survived by:

his wife of 57 years, Mary;

son, Doug Peterson;

daughter, Tamera Slaven;

granddaughter, Taylor

Slaven;

great-granddaughter, Lilli-

an Tincher; sister, DelRae

Johansen; sister-in-law,

Sandra Peterson; and

many nieces, nephews,

and cousins

Dennis was preceded in

death by: his parents;

brother, Leroy Peterson;

son-in-law Billy Ray

Slaven; and a grandson,

Julian.

2021 at 11 am at Minot

Congregational United

Church of Christ. Visita-
