Keith Johnson

March 27, 1945-Sept. 8, 2021

Keith Edward Johnson

was born March 27, 1945,

to Raynold and Eva

(Myhre) Johnson in rural

Plaza. Keith was raised in

Plaza where he attended

school. He was drafted

into the US Army on No-

vember 10, 1965, and was

stationed in Germany dur-

ing the Vietnam War.

After his honorable

discharge on October 25,

1967, Keith returned

home to Plaza.

He was united in mar-

riage to Victoria “Vicky”

Baker on June 23, 1968, in

Stanley. After settling in

Plaza, Keith started work-

ing for Farmers Union Oil.

While living in Plaza he

served on the Plaza City

council, was active in the

Plaza Fire Department,

serving as Fire Chief,

served on the Plaza Police

Department, and was a

member of the Bangen

Moen American Legion

Post 119.

In 1980, Keith began his

Fire Department. Vicky

unexpectedly passed

away September 23, 1998.

The following year, on

December 24, 1999, Can-

dace was killed in a tragic

car accident.

With the help of his

brother-in-law, Brad Bak-

er, Keith joined a support

group, Beginning Experi-

ence (BE). BE helped

Keith through this diffi-

cult time creating many

lifelong friendships.

These friendships brought

meaning back to Keith’s

life. Keith continued to

live in Parshall and fin-

ished out his career at the

elevator, retiring in 2016,

after 36 years of service.

Following his retirement

Keith bought a house in

Rugby, where he lived un-

til his death. During his

time in Rugby, he was a

member of the Eagles

Club.

Keith was a great man.

He was well-loved by

many and made many

friends throughout the

years. He was a wonder-

Harley. He was a quiet

man but will be remem-

bered for his kindness.
