Everett Schweitzer

Everett Schweitzer, 90,

Berthold died Friday, Sep-

tember 17, 2021, sur-

rounded by family in a

Mohall nursing home.

Everett was born Oc-

tober 14, 1930, in Ken-

mare, ND to Wilbert and

Maffie (Nelson) Schweiz-

er. He was raised and

educated in Tolley. After

the completion of 8th

grade, he took on a job in

Tolley until he enlisted

into the US Navy on June

7, 1948. Everett served

his country honorably and

was discharged from ac-

tive duty on June 2, 1952.

He returned home to Tol-

ley.

Everett was united in

marriage to Pauline Jones

on June 21, 1953, in Sher-

wood. This union would

be blessed with six chil-

dren. They lived in Tol-

ley for seven years, then

moved to Washington

state for a short time be-

fore returning to North

Dakota and settling in

Berthold in 1962.

Everett was employed

by Roise Implement

which later became Green

Power Equipment, he re-

tired in 1993 after nearly

30 years of dedicated ser-

vice.

Everett was a member

of Zion Lutheran Church,

serving on the church

council. He was active in

the community as a

member of the Berthold

American Legion and the

Berthold Senior Citizen’s

Group. Everett also

served on the Berthold

City Council and the Bert-

hold Volunteer Fire

Department.

He spent many hours

fishing with his brothers,

wife, children, and

grandchildren. He en-

joyed traveling with fami-

ly, playing cards with

friends and was also a

talented carpenter, help-

ing with remolding pro-

jects for his children and

grandchildren. In his re-

tirement he looked for-

ward to harvest when he

was able to help run the

combine. He will be

missed for his whity sense

of humor, musical talent,

and his handiwork and at-

tention to detail will not

be forgotten.
