Dennis Deaver

Dennis Deaver, 73, Bert-

hold, surrounded by his

loving family, died

Wednesday, September

15, 2021, in a Minot hos-

pital.

Dennis was born Febru-

ary 17, 1948, in Minot,

ND to Delwin and Ruth

(Trondson) Deaver. He at-

tended country school for

three years and graduated

from Berthold High

School in 1966. He con-

tinued his education at

Wahpeton earning a de-

gree in welding.

Dennis was drafted into

the US Army on March

11, 1969. He served twen-

ty months in Germany

and was honorably

discharged from active

duty on March 5, 1971.

Dennis was united in

marriage to Jacalyn Bloom

on June 14, 1975. They

made their home in Bert-

hold, where they farmed

small grains and operated

a dairy farm for many sea-

sons. Dennis also worked

nights at Marketplace

Foods in stocking.

Dennis was a devoted

member of the Berthold

community serving on

Zion Lutheran’s Church

Council, Berthold Fire

District Board and the

Ward County Farm

Bureau. He was an avid

supporter of all Berthold

School and athletic pro-

grams throughout the

years enjoying his chil-

dren and grandchildren’s

successes.

Dennis enjoyed his time

spent in the garden shar-

ing the gifts of his green

thumb and making lefse

with his family. To pass

the time in the winter

months he enjoyed the

challenge of putting puz-

zles together from 100 to

10,000 pieces. He was a

devout Minnesota Twins,

Vikings and Gophers fan

who always had a game

on the tv. Dennis rarely

missed card playing with

his friends, valued time at

the Senior Center and was

always willing to lend a

quiet helping hand to

those in need. Dennis will

be missed deeply by all

who were blessed to share

in his life.

Dennis is survived by

his loving wife of 46

years, Jacki, Berthold;

children Brandi (Brent)

Kjorstad, Williston, ND,

Derrick (Wanda) Deaver

and Denver (Janelle)

Deaver, both of Berthold;

grandchildren Dale, Jacob,

David and Delaini

Kjorstad, Dawson, Quade

and Cashley Deaver and

Samuel, Audra, Ashtyn

and Aleena Deaver; sisters

LaVonne (Ken) Horn-

berger, Berthold, ND, Lin-

da (Glenn) Stockdill,

Garrison, ND, Lori

(Panch) Harshaw, Bert-

hold and Leanne (Mark)

Brossart, Minot; brother

Danny (Debbie) Deaver,

sisters-in-law Janet (Rick)

Lee, Plaza, ND and Jane

(Delton) Brown, Hot

Springs Village, AR along

with numerous nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Dennis was preceded in

death by his parents and

mother-in-law and

father-in-law Vaughn and

Betty Bloom.
